Job of Manager of Accounting and Finance in California for MBA, MS, M.COM

Job Description

Aragen Bioscience, Inc., a high value-added contract research organization located in the San Francisco Bay Area, is recruiting for a Manager of Financial Accounting to oversee the Company?s accounting and finance functions and serve as a financial resource to Company management.  Having recently been acquired by GVK Biosciences, a large international bioservices company, Aragen is poised for strong growth. The Company is located in Morgan Hill, California, at the south end of the Silicon Valley.
The successful candidate must be well-accomplished in accounting and finance, be a licensed CPA and have an MBA/MS/MA degree in Finance or Accounting, have an excellent knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP standards and tax accounting, have at least eight years of relevant experience in fast-paced environments in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry and be highly motivated. Experience with Indian financial regulations would be a plus, but is not a requirement.

Requirements

The successful candidate will: 
Oversee finance and accounting functions
Be responsible for payroll administration, purchasing, budgeting, financial planning, reporting, analysis and control
 Maintain the Company?s financial records in accordance with US GAAP
 Assure compliance with US and California tax law, oversee the preparation and submission of state and federal tax returns and interface with state and federal tax authorities if and as necessary.
 Work closely with auditors of the company and ensure the books of accounts are closed and audited within the agreed time frame without qualifications.
 Maintain highest level of integrity in all business dealings, ensuring integrity is strictly adhered to in the company in all its business dealings and protect the company from financial issues without compromising integrity.
Work closely with Company Management to develop strategies, budgets and plans for achieving business goals.
 Work closely with CFO of parent company in India to integrate subsidiary?s financial process, procedures and policies with those of parent company.
Oversee other functions such as HR, facility management, etc.

This is a key position in Aragen Bioscience?s Management Team. Job knowledge and integrity, as well as excellent judgment and business acumen, are absolute requirements.  The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills enabling clear and
